Good morning, my friends. We're back to sunshine this morning. We're expecting temps in the 70's today, and even a day in the 80's by this weekend. It's going to be good weather for making quilt sandwiches. That won't start until tomorrow. I've been anticipating it long enough that I'm ready to get started. As I've mentioned, my goal is to do four per day until they're finished. If there's time for other sewing, I'll work on finishing off the small quilts I made while we were traveling ...

read moreGood morning, my friends. It was another lovely day here at the Three Cats Ranch. Mike and I gratefully took the opportunity to get outside and spruce up the yard a little bit. There was a gangly three-quarters-dead azalea that needed to be taken out. We’ve talked about it for at least two years. Finally, I was inclined to cut out the dead stuff and see how it would do. As we discussed what should be cut and what shouldn’t, Mike went and got his tools and dug the thing up. (There’s more than one way to ...

read moreGood morning, my friends. Saturday turned out to be another lovely day to get out and enjoy the weather. We had some errands to run in town, and we wanted to cross over the pedestrian bridge in Sherwood again. And we did a few other things not on the day's agenda. First...the bridge. We crossed it more mindfully this time. Mike, engineer and handyman that he is, was good company for this mindful excursion. He was appreciative of the materials and workmanship. So let's have another more mindful journey, shall we? Or don't. You don't ...

read moreGood morning, my friends. It's been an action-packed couple of days. I have so much to tell you, so let's get started right away. I'll start with the sewing. After that, I'll tell you about my walk with Matthew along the Willamette River waterfront...that was yesterday. And then, I'll tell you about our dinner Thursday night. Okay? Okay. Here we go.
In the sewing room, I managed to find enough time to finish the top-stitching on the latest two blocks for the Northern Wilderness project. Here's Block #9, the Outhouse.

Good morning, my friends. It was such a pretty day yesterday, and unexpectedly warm. My usual morning routine was still intact, though. I took the first stitches on the ninth block for the Snowmen and Reindeer. I stitched their faces first so that we could chat while I stitched the rest of their bodies. (Doesn’t everyone do that?)

Good morning, my friends. It's another sunny day here at the Three Cats Ranch. We've had our typical spring weather with a little bit of everything during the day. A few days ago, we even had some hail. No snow, thank goodness, although we do sometimes get snow in April.
When I left you yesterday, I was on my way to fill the birdfeeders. Along my way, I saw a few little things going on in the garden. For one thing, I'm seeing colors on the Lavender Whisper peony. I'll admit I'm anxious to see ...

read moreGood morning, my friends. The morning is "good" despite being a grocery shopping day. The sky is clouded over and we're expecting more rain, but it's good sewing weather. That makes the day "good" by definition.
It was a productive day here yesterday. I stitched up the 48th Tiny Treasure. This one has stem stitch, fishbone stitch, and satin stitch.

Good morning, my friends. Before I say another word, please join me in wishing this handsome hunka mancat a very happy 14th birthday.
My, oh my. How time flies. It seems only yesterday we brought home this little squirt.

Good morning, my friends. It was a good and tiring day yesterday. As I mentioned, my friend Sue and I walked across a newly-opened pedestrian bridge in the neighboring community of Sherwood yesterday. We started on the far side of the bridge and walked across to where the new high school is located.

Good morning, my friends. Yes, it's true I said I'd be posting later today if I posted at all. And so if you thought you were going to be able to drink your coffee in peace this morning, you'll be disappointed. Here I am flapping my lips again. There was an early start to my morning, and so I find myself with time to spare.
Since I knew I'd be leaving early this morning, I did this morning's slow-stitching yesterday evening while we watched the news. And so I have two Tiny Treasures to show ...
